Either way, we’ll be talking about ‘The Buck’, the next installment of ARGs ‘Amy’s Big Wish’ series, and wow, what an installment it is. In an effort to strike some kind of normalcy with these animation reviews, let me break it down in sections, then we’ll determine whether or not it’s worth your time and money (spoiler alert: it is)
Story
For those just coming into the ARG universe, I will say that ‘Amy’s Big Wish’ storyline can be a bit confusing. It’s not immediately clear who ships with who, and the character relationships can be hard to pin down. I think much of this enigmatic storytelling is deliberate: ARG definitely likes to drop hints and let the viewers figure out what’s going on without outright telling them, but some may find the direction befuddling.
Whichever boat you find yourself in, lemme tell you, you don’t need any context to enjoy ‘The Buck’. The setting takes place in a very familiar, single frame that involves the main character, Audrey, all primed and ready to put on a cam show. That’s…pretty much the story.
Now, that’s not to say that there aren’t hints as to how Audrey ties in to the rest of the series, but they are placed subtly and cleverly throughout the animation. Personally, I enjoy this style of storytelling, and it’s especially hard to find it in porn.
Visuals
The first thing I noticed about ‘The Buck’, visually speaking, was how well I could immediately tell what was happening. ARG put so much effort into making the animation look and feel like a real cam session, and it was extremely easy for me to get pulled into it.
The model herself, Audrey, looks as good if not better than any of ARGs other models, and her facial expressions and sex positions are all seamless and fluid between cuts. There’s some fantastic variety with the masturbation, and Audrey spends just as much time playing with her pussy as she does with her cock, making full use of her ‘futa-ness’.
Of course, special attention was spent on Audrey’s massive futa cock. Many futanari animations depict cocks that seem rigid and fixed into one position, but Audrey’s dick almost seems to have a life of its own as it goes through various stages of hardness. I was quite impressed by how natural the erection scenes looked, and paired with the ‘tips’ Audrey receives via the chat, the detail adds a tremendous amount of production value to the entire animation.
Quick, indulgent note here: dear god, I love the way ARG rendered Audrey’s nipples!
Aside from the smoking hot futa blowing and self fucking herself, the chat window on the side is the secondary star of the show. Initially, the chat window seems to take a back seat to the animation, but it is so, so much more than that!
First off, half the fun is seeing Audrey interact with her chatroom as she receives tips and reads comments. It’s so well done that it actually feels like a real interaction, and it makes the sex 100 times hotter.
How is the chat so convincing, you may ask? Because the comments are real! ARG actually took the time and energy to use nearly every single comment from their patreon, and even some from twitter. That was no small feat: Agent Red Girl put literal days worth of work into it, but the payoff was enormous. Some of the comments are downright hilarious, while others are so absurd that it makes the chat feel like, well, a real chat. Just the chat alone is enough to give the animation far more rewatchability than the average 3D clip, and in that sense, ARG has once again outdone themselves.
Last but not least, there is a ridiculous cumshot at the end, but hey, you knew that was there, right? I’ve seen a fair bit of criticism regarding ARGs cumshot scenes, but, as I’ve mentioned before elsewhere, rendering cum is HARD.
For those who feel like ARGs fluid rendering could use an upgrade, the artist is putting a lot of effort into other fluid simulation options, so be on the lookout for that. Personally, I’ve always enjoyed ARGs cumshot scenes, but I am always looking forward to seeing better fluid animations!
Audio
As stated in the last review, ARG doesn’t skimp out on voice work and sound effects, and this animation is no exception. Audrey is voiced wonderfully by VA SamaraSoto, and their voice suits the character perfectly. Audrey’s tones and inflections are fun, peppy, and genuine as she interacts with her chat, and the lines sync exceptionally well with her expressions.
The sound effects are also great! Though subtle, the quirky beeps and pings only add to the ‘realism’ of the cam session.
Final Thoughts
If there’s anything negative to say about this animation, or any of ARGs animations, really, it’s that the storylines may seem incohesive or disconnected to some. I’ve seen a handful of people gripe about it here and there in various chats and forums, but honestly, most people who watch these clips are fans and have a pretty good idea of what’s happening.
Of course, there are others who could care less about anyone’s story and they just want to see futa chicks banging and cumming buckets. If that’s the case, then you’ll love this and probably all of ARGs animations!
Personally, I enjoy how ARG is doing two things with the ‘Amy’s Big Wish’ series.
First, they are taking the time to tell a story through actual direction that relies on less dialogue and more action. Second, and probably more impressive, is that the series feels less linear and more episodic than AML, and I’m very curious to see how all the episodes tie together!
Regardless of the story, ARG is pushing the envelope with every animation, not just with better quality renders, but also in finding ways to add details that most people overlook. If I haven’t stressed it enough, I’ll stress it again: If you love futa, 3D animations and artists who are constantly pushing the boundaries of their work, you’re going to want to support ARG!
