Cafe: Hello, Ashley, thanks so much for agreeing to do an interview with us, so close to the holidays, no less! We’ve got a few questions lined up for you, so let’s get right to it!

What are some of your biggest inspirations?

Ashley: I think my main source of inspiration is my fantasies, at least for quite a significant part of my artwork. I embody my vision of the ideal female and male bodies in my models. Another big source is the world of Japanese porn and erotica: real, 2D or 3D. I’m definitely inspired by the Japanese vision of physical beauty and their ideas.

Cafe: It’s so interesting to discover that your process is largely internal! It’s also undeniable that Japanese culture has played a massive role in both 2D and 3D mediums; you’ve certainly carried over the best of both worlds into your work!

That being said, what would you say makes your art so unique and special?

Ashley: Attention to details, I guess, especially to physical details and poses. I try to pay attention to every little thing, and probably a balance between realism and fantasy. To tell the truth, I’m so tired of bodies with hypertrophied shapes, and that’s why I’ve been trying to make bodies more realistic, but at the same time attractive.

On the other hand, in real life sometimes we see bodies that look like fantasy. So, it’s the main reference for me now: fantasy body, but still realistic.

Cafe: I would say that you find the balance wonderfully: it can be a difficult tightrope to walk, but you’re hitting all the marks!

Alright, here’s the big question: what kinds of renders and/or sets are you working on right now?

Ashley: I’m working on the “Arena” now, the sequel to “Champion’s Reward”. Both stories take place in the same setting. I conceived a series of stories: the main idea is that the scenario of a typical fantasy story went bad. A hero, who had to go through the path of trials and save the world from the awakened evil, has died, so the world is at the mercy of the victorious evil. This is the starting point for my setting. I wondered what would happen in such a world, and are villains so different from ordinary people?

Another thing I’m working on is one of my old projects, “Jaiden’s Secrets”, that was abandoned for a long time. But now, I feel like I’m ready to work on it again. So, I’m working on the locations and the story now, together with my regular co-author, Lucy Mark. She wrote the text for almost all of my releases. It’s a story about the dark side of modern life in the city and what people are willing to do to follow their desires.

Cafe: That’s awesome! Your sets certainly have a high production quality; the writing and planning comes through wonderfully!

That’s a fantastic amount of content to look forward to, it’ll be exciting to see one of your ‘old projects’ come to life.

Last question here and we’ll wrap it up: do you have any long term, future goals for your work?

Ashley: It bothers me a little that I’m creating stories just for entertainment. I would like to create something epic, using the freedom of the 3DX world. Something that takes place in a well-developed and interesting setting, and without any censorship. I think I’m moving towards this.

I would also like to make  projects with interesting visual styles, inspired by experimental cinema and arthouse. I hope I’ll find time for such things in the near future.

Cafe: That’s a particularly interesting goal! No matter what you end up doing, I’m sure it’ll blow us away, no doubt!

Thanks for the catch-up, Ashley! Wishing you all the best and much deserved success in the upcoming year!
